SPARKS failed to fly at Colac Otway Shire Council’s monthly meeting, despite the billings of a first-class stoush.
The council had its February meeting at Apollo Bay, where disgruntled residents have shown their disapproval for the council’s proposed harbour redevelopment plans.
Eight people attended Wednesday’s meeting to watch proceedings, with one question dedicated to the coastal town’s harbour plans.
Apollo Bay residents group Otway Forum’s Tony Webber asked councillors if they would consider his group’s alternative proposal for the redevelopment.
Shire mayor Brian Crook said the council would consider all proposals as part of the consultation period on the harbour.
Cr Crook said he was pleased with the attendance at Wednesday’s meeting.
“It was maybe a little bit down on usual numbers, the majority of time we get about 10 to 15 people, but I would say the fact that there was no direct Apollo Bay related items on the agenda may have accounted for the lower turnout,” he said.
