Colac man linked to child porn ring

A COLAC man was among 31 Australians linked to a global child pornography ring.
Australian Federal Police has confirmed a 52-year-old Colac man, who was arrested in 2007 on child pornography charges, was part of a three-year international investigation.
Australian police worked with their European counterparts to infiltrate an online forum based in the Netherlands which allowed users to share pornographic images of children.
An AFP spokeswoman said the Colac man was among the first people to be arrested as part of the sting.
Police charged him with accessing and possessing child pornography on December 15, 2007.
The spokeswoman said he received a 27-month jail sentence with 15 months non-parole.
