HIGHWAY patrol police nabbed 99 offenders during a two-day Colac district coastal road blitz.
Police targeted motorcyclists and motorists travelling on the Great Ocean Road and surrounding back roads.
Acting Sergeant Paul Emmanuel said officers detected one vehicle travelling 137 kilometres an hour on Cape Otway Road at Winchelsea.
Sgt Emmanuel said officers checked a total of 234 cars and motorcycles over the two-day blitz on the weekend.
“Probably only a third were pulled over for a reason, the other were just checked,” he said.
Sgt Emmanuel said the count included three disqualified drivers, three unlicensed drivers and two drivers charged with careless driving.
He said officers detected 26 speeding vehicles, nine unregistered vehicles, three seat-belt offences and five mobile phone offences.
He said the results were “pretty standard” and “successful as far as police were concerned”.
