COLAC'S Pat Heffernan hopes a book about her son Michael’s life will ensure he didn’t die in vain.
Colac’s Pat Heffernan has written a book about her son, a Vietnam War veteran who took his own life, to draw attention to the plight of fellow veterans.
It will be interesting to see what Mrs Heffernan has to say about Michael’s tough life, as he has left a very tough legacy for us, his three children. It is interesting to note that some people in this world beleive that their difficulties enable them to treat others badly, and others, like myself, beleive that no matter how badly things turn out for you, you should not treat others without respect and dignity. Michael did have a tough life, but a lot of it was through his own choice.
