Police had to use capsicum spray to subdue a man at Apollo Bay.

POLICE had to use capsicum spray to subdue an Apollo Bay man.

Leading Senior Constable Andrew Orchard said police responded to a report about a disturbance in the main street of Apollo Bay.

“By the time police arrived the male had decamped but he was located at an address in Costin Street where he was sprayed there because of his demeanour,” he said.

“The male attempted to assault police and he was sprayed with capsicum spray. He was intoxicated and aggressive.”

Sen Const Orchard said police took the 26-year-old Apollo Bay man to Colac Police Station after the incident.
