Raids reveal drugs and weapons

AN Apollo Bay man is facing drugs and weapons charges and a teenager is in custody after three police raids at the coastal town.

Sergeant David Hand of Apollo Bay said police used warrants to search three properties and arrested a 49-year-old man at a Nelson Street house after officers found 35 grams of cannabis, prescription drugs and weapons.

The weapons included a crossbow and a throwing knife.

He said police also arrested a 17-year-old after a raid on a Marriners Lookout Road property where officers found 25 grams of cannabis.

Sgt Hand said police remanded the teenager at Geelong and he appeared in Geelong Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
