WATER police expect to charge a jet ski rider over a collision on the Curdies River which injured a 12-year-old boy.
Port Campbell Police Sergeant David Banks said the child was on a sea biscuit behind a boat when the incident happened at Curdievale, south-west of Timboon.
“The rider of a jet ski has struck the 12-year-old causing head and shoulder injuries,” Sgt Banks said.
Paramedics flew the child to the Royal Children’s Hospital, but doctors have since discharged him.
Leading Senior Constable Lee Barton of the water police said he expected to charge the jet ski rider, a man from Allansford, on summons, with recklessly causing injury.
Police also seized the jet ski after the Australia Day incident.
