Drier than average for four years

Beech Forest rain watcher Rupert Hewison says the region had drier-than-average weather in 2014. Meanwhile, the Colac district will swelter through the next two days, with a total fire ban today and another ban probable Saturday.

COLAC and district has had its fourth year in a row of drier-than-average weather, with one watcher dubbing the weather a “green drought”.

    Little River is at an all time low as well. The conditions here are like 1967, our driest year last century. My family also has a pluviograph for the BOM.
