COLAC’S Bluewater pool and stadium redevelopment has hit another hurdle with contractors still searching for a cause and solution to fix the new floor.

Council has put out a media release today (Thursday) about the flooring issue. If anyone has plans on using the stadium this summer I STRONGLY SUGGEST you get tomorrow’s Colac Herald and read about the latest problems for this project.
A great amount of ratepayers money has been directed into this project. At the very least a thorough independent building audit should be undertaken to determine the cause. The report must then be available to ratepayers for viewing.
Our community is getting even more frustrated by the issues, delay and cost of this project. But what is really getting people annoyed is the denial by council that there is any issues. Cr Delahunty and I tried to get the council to acknowlege we were “concerned” about progress…………..but no……….. not one other councillor would support such a notion. 🙁
surely these issues with the floor/drainage other factors etc…would have been picked up in a hazcon or hazop meeting with all key stake holders prior to commencement to identify this before it become a problem? be interesting to see if it was picked up or the reports exist..
