Colac motorcyclists join massive charity ride

COLAC motorcyclists took to the road with toys yesterday for an appeal to collect Christmas gifts for underprivileged families.

About 30 motorbikes set off from Colac yesterday to join a convoy at Geelong to benefit charities across the region.

They were part of the Geelong Harley Owners Group’s annual “toy run” convoy to Queenscliff, which involved about 3000 bikes.

Colac participant Gary Theodore said the event attracted motorcyclists from across Colac and district, and each one took along non-perishable gifts and toys to donate to children and teens for Christmas.

The ride benefited a range of charities including Cottage By The Sea, Bethany, The Sanctuary and Geelong Hospital.
