Colac district footballers made up almost half of the Geelong Falcons team in its come-from-behind win against the Murray Bushrangers.
Nine footballers from the Colac district region featured in the Falcons’ 12.9 (81) to 10.7 (67) victory, which was the highest number that coach Andrew Allthorpe could remember.
Colac footballers Cooper Stephens and Adam Garner debuted in the match, joining a host of others who have debuted this season; Winchelsea’s Cassidy Parish, nine games, Colac’s Liam McCarthy, seven, Frazer O’Gorman, five, and Ethan Floyd, four.
A host of second and third-year Falcons also played, including Colac’s Ben McCarthy, 26 games, Birregurra’s Zach Zdybel, 23, and Cobden’s Sean Darcy, 11.
“Of the 23 guys that played, all the Colac district guys contributed at different stages,” Allthorpe said.
