Shark gets 99 in loss to City

City United has moved into fourth place on the Colac District Cricket Association Division One ladder after securing a win against Apollo Bay.

The Colac-based club continued its winning form after last defeating Stoneyford in round eight with a six-run victory over the Sharks at Apollo Bay on Saturday.

Kaden Newton, four wickets, and Lachie Serle both played key roles in restricting Apollo Bay to 211 runs.

Dave Treweek cut Tyson Holt’s chance of reaching a ton agonisingly short by catching the batsman out on 99 runs.

City United captain Sam Cardinal said his team bowled well against Apollo Bay in their first clash against the team this season.

“We bowled pretty well to restrict them to that, it was about par their score,” he said.
