Graeme Wilke OAM has witnessed a slow movement towards recognition of the arts and the enrichment it offers a community, and hopes one day it receives the funding it deserves.

The founding director of Lorne’s Qdos arts gallery and Lorne Sculpture Biennale receives a Medal of the Order of Australia today for his “service to the visual arts, particularly to sculpture”.

He is one of 778 Australians included on this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours list and is humbled by the recognition of his “personal passion”.
