Emerging Colac district footballer Dustin Walters says the time was right to test himself at a higher level.
The 20-year-old has crossed to the Colac Tigers in the Geelong Football League, after playing the majority of his career at Apollo Bay, and the 2018 season at Alvie.
He snagged 55 goals to win the Swans’ goalkicking award this season, and finished third in the league’s goalkicking award behind Otway Districts’ Tom Mullane-Grant, 76, and Lorne’s Lewie Hollmer, 74.
Walters has also represented the CDFNL in interleague the past two seasons.
Meanwhile, Colac under-19 grand final footballer Oscar Coutts has applied for a clearance back to his home club Lorne.
See Wednesday’s Colac Herald for more on Walters’ decision.
