New Alvie coach Joe Dare has taken little time to turn the Swans into genuine contenders following the signing of Cobden trio Louis Robertson, Lincoln Dare and Dominic Dare.

The Dare brothers are set to play key-position roles for Alvie next year, while Robertson will add to the Swans’ midfield depth.

The Dares have history in the Colac district league; Lincoln won Alvie’s best-and-fairest award as a 21-year-old in 2015 while playing as a ruckman, while Dominic averaged 3.8 goals a game during a nine-game stint with Simpson in 2017.

“Lincoln and Dominic will play as key forwards, and Linc will more than likely float through the ruck,” Joe Dare said.

“Louis is an inside midfielder, he’s strong overhead and can also go forward and kick goals,” he said.

“Louis was someone I really rated at Cobden, and after watching Alvie’s finals series I thought they were a midfielder or two short.”
