The Colac Sportsmen’s Club has recognised the achievements of City United cricket prodigy Aanlin Cheeranbenoy as he prepares to represent the state.

The club awarded the primary school pupil with its Sports Star of the Month award for October.

Cheeranbenoy has enjoyed an impressive few months, earning a spot in Victoria’s under-12 cricket team in October before becoming the youngest cricketer in Colac district league history to make their Division One debut last month.

He will join his state teammates for School Sport Australia’s weeklong 12-years-and-under national championship in Western Australia, starting Wednesday.
