Stoneyford international lands first century

Stoneyford international recruit Arslan Khan reached his century from 110 balls.

Star international recruit Arslan Khan has landed his first century at Stoneyford during another dominant performance from the reigning premiers.

The former Canadian Under-19 World Cup captain scored 105 to help the Maroon Caps post 9-279 after their skipper Dom Dare finally won a toss to allow his side to bat first.

His teammates responded with the ball to restrict West to 111.

Khan, who has reached double figures in each Division One game since arriving in Australia last year, anchored the innings.

The impressive all-rounder had able support from Levi Dare, 63 runs, Jesse Williamson, 26, and Dom Dare, 25.

Captain Dare said he was thrilled to give his players an opportunity to bat first after limited chances before Christmas.

He said Khan showcased how dangerous he was with the bat during the clash at Colac’s Western Oval.

“It was good to bat first for once and post a decent total, we were pretty happy to reach 280,” Dare said.
