Blue Church resident Colin Carter has welcomed Regional Roads Victoria’s move to install a surveillance camera at the notorious intersection bordering his home.
Regional Roads Victoria’s traffic engineers will review traffic movement footage captured by a camera at the intersection of the Princes Highway and Timboon-Colac Road, also known as the Tomahawk Creek Road, to inform future improvements.
Regional Roads Victoria said the camera, which sourced power from solar panels mounted on power poles along the Princes Highway between Larpent and Pirron Yallock, would be in place for four weeks.
The Colac Herald has reported on multiple crashes and near misses at the intersection for more than 10 years and Mr Carter, who is also Nalangil CFA captain and the owner of the Blue Church, said that he believed crashes and near misses had decreased since August last year.
