Young Tigers return to Imps

Colac’s Stewy McCann, left, has returned to Colac district league club Colac Imperials as an assistant coach, while a host of other former Cats including Tom Cahill have also returned.

New Colac Imperials assistant coach Stewy McCann is among three former Imps juniors set to return in a major boost for the Colac district league club.

Imps coach Dan Casey said the strongly built youngster, 21, had returned from the Colac Tigers along with key tall Tom Cahill, 19, and wingman Tom Prascevic, 20.

Former Simpson and Nirranda midfielder Michael Foster, 25, has also joined the club, helping fill the void of retiring Lee Hickey.

“We’ve really set out to bring former players back to the club and we’ve been pretty lucky to get a couple of really good young players come back to the club,” Casey said.

“We’ve tried to get these guys for a couple of years but we appreciated they wanted to stay at Colac, and that’s a credit to Colac for making it a club that people want to play at.
