Pat Duynhoven’s rapid rise as a netball mentor will see the Simpson premiership coach take control of the Colac district’s senior interleague squad this year.
Duynhoven said he accepted an opportunity to coach the CDFNL’s representative side for its clash on the road against the Maryborough Castlemaine district league on May 18.
League officials offer the role to the previous season’s Team of the Year coach, which Duynhoven claimed following his remarkable debut campaign leading the Tigers.
The former football and basketball mentor stepped into netball’s coaching ranks for the first time in 2018, helping Simpson break its premiership drought in Colac district A Grade netball.
Duynhoven took over a Tigers squad coming off back-to-back grand final losses, with his players enduring just two defeats under his instruction on their way to a memorable premiership triumph against South Colac in last year’s decider.
