Interleague squad set to be released

The Colac District Football Netball League has appointed Colac Imperials’ Dan Casey to lead its senior interleague side.

Newly-appointed Colac district football interleague coach Dan Casey says he hopes to release an initial squad for this year’s AFL Victoria Community Championships this week.

Casey said he got the call-up on Saturday morning to lead the league in this year’s away interleague clash against the Maryborough Castlemaine league on May 18, and was already making contact with CDFNL coaches yesterday.

The Colac Imperials coach, who has also led Alvie and Irrewarra-Beeac in recent years, takes the reins from Steve O’Dowd who has taken on a defensive coaching role with the Colac Tigers.

“It’s been a bit of a whirlwind really,” Casey said.
