Loyal netballer celebrates big milestone

Colac Imperials netballer Abby Callahan notched up her 250th game for the club.

A Colac Imperials netballer celebrated a big milestone as the Cats boasted their strongest A Grade squad of the season on the weekend.

Committed Imps netballer Abby Callahan played her 250th club game for the Cats during their round nine match against coastal outfit Lorne.

Co-coach Jess Spokes said a poor second quarter proved costly in her side’s mission to deliver Callahan a win in her milestone match.

The Cats lost to the Dolphins 36-45, with Lorne’s 17-goal-to-eight second term a major setback, after Imperials outscored the visitors in the second half.

“I’m pretty sure Abby’s a one-club player and she’s always doing something around the place, whether it’s coaching or umpiring,” Spokes
said.

“We’re very lucky to have her and it’s just disappointing we weren’t able to get over the line, it was just that one quarter.
