Irrewarra-Beeac officials say the new crop of netballers who join the Bombers every year should count themselves lucky.
The 13-and-under netballers are greeted by Julie Johnstone, who is just as excited to get stuck into the season as they are.
Julie has coached Irrewarra-Beeac’s youngest netball team for more than a decade, helping nurture the club’s next generation of netballers.
The Bombers have all three sides in junior finals once again in 2019, with the club’s up-and-coming A Grade outfit also aiming to make a dent in the top-grade competition.
Top-grade rising stars Jeremi Robinson, Ruby Marwood and Nour Alkurd have all played under Julie’s tuition, while she has also helped juniors from other clubs in her role as an interleague mentor in the past.
Julie said she was proud to watch players climb through the ranks after first introducing them to Saturday netball and she modelled a lot of her coaching techniques on netball mentor Leah Ousey’s coaching style.
