South Colac officials are sweating on scans for Tom McKean after the star footballer dislocated a kneecap during the Roos’ win against Otway Districts.

Roos coach Josh Black said reigning best-and-fairest McKean was set to learn his fate yesterday following the incident late in his side’s 16.23 (119) to 6.2 (38) triumph over the Demons on Saturday.

McKean has endured a tough run coming off a breakout season in 2018, re-injuring a troublesome shoulder earlier in the season.

“McKean dislocated his kneecap, he’s having a horror run,” Black said yesterday.

“I think he was going in to have scans today, but it’s a bit of a funny one.

“Until we get scans we won’t know, but it could be season over or he could be playing next week.

“It’s tough to see because he’s such a good player, he won a best-and-fairest for us last year.”

The Roos bounced back from a loss against Birregurra by under a goal last round in their clash with the Demons on Saturday.
