Hundreds pack hall for regional awards

Colac timber processor CMTP has won three awards at the 2019 Colac Otway Businesses Awards, including Business of the Year and Business Person of the Year.

The Colac and District Chamber of Commerce hosted an awards gala on Saturday night to announce the winners of 18 awards across a range of categories recognising excellence in business.

CMTP founder Chris Meade won the coveted Business Person of the Year award, while the company won the Business of the Year, the major prize of the night.

CMTP also won the award for Excellence in Manufacturing, Construction and Rural.

Bluewater leisure centre and Colac Dental Practice also won multiple awards on the night, while James Thwaites won Employee of the Year.
