District’s Year 12s celebrate scores

Trinity College Colac graduates Ruby Nelson and Suzanne Ford were thrilled to receive their Year 12 results yesterday.

The wait is over for Colac and district’s class of 2019, with the release of Year 12 results.

The Victorian Curriculum Assessment Authority released students ATARs and study scores yesterday at 7am.

Colac and district Year 12s were among the state’s 49,324 VCE and 13,942 VCAL graduates this year.

Alex Shaw was Trinity College’s top scorer in 2019.

Alex, who is currently helping fight fires which are ravaging the state’s east, scored 96.55.

Ruby Nelson, 93.95, and Suzanne Ford, 91.20, were among the college’s other high achievers.

Ruby said she planned to go straight to university next year, while Suzanne will take a gap year.

“I’m tossing up between biological sciences and biomedicine, I haven’t really decided yet but I have the option to do either one which is awesome,” Ruby said.
