Banding together for bushfires

Red Door Dance and Theatre Company owner Zoe Hudgell, pictured right, and NMP Productions’ Nick Moloney have brought together Colac and district performers for bushfire appeal concert Band Together Colac. Connor Knight, pictured left, will perform at Sunday’s concert.

Colac and district people will unite this weekend to show their support for fellow Australians affected by devastating bushfires.

The Band Together Colac bushfire appeal concert will bring together community members and performers to raise money for Victorian, New South Wales and South Australian communities.

Geelong performers Taylor Henderson and the Mik Maks will headline the show alongside a jam-packed group of Colac and district performers including Piano Bar, The Angus Duo, Connor Knight, Saul Kavenagh and Maggie Matthews.

Colac performer Jamie McGuane said he was thrilled to be a part of the star-studded event.

“I’m uplifted by the response, I’m overwhelmed by the preparation that’s already gone in and the tenacity of people to get things done,” he said.

“It’s music creating goodwill. All those things, those values are very important to me and if we can’t all pitch in at a time like this to help our fellow Australians, then we’re missing something.
