High hopes for Colac Gold Cup

Horse Life of Waldo, trainer Wendy Thornton and John Williams Jr of Colac Toyota look forward to Sunday’s Colac Gold Cup. Colac Toyota has provided prizes for the Fashions on the Field contest. Life of Waldo will run in race seven, the Colac Gold Cup.

Colac and district’s richest horse race will provide more than enough entertainment for everyone this weekend.

Fantastic frocks, thundering hooves and Piano Bar singing stars will wow the crowds at the Colac Racecourse on Sunday, with the Colac Gold Cup returning for its 158th year.

The sun is set to return for the event, with favourable weather predicted and thousands of racegoers likely to pass through the turnstiles.

Fashions on the Field will turn heads, with guys and gals dressing up to the nines and thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes donated thanks to Colac Toyota.

Judges will include racing matriarch Eileen Maher, Colac stylist Genna Nelson and Ray Croft style guru Stan Woods, who is a stalwart of the fashions judging panel.
