Colac Otway Shire Council confirmed it has "reached out" to the AFL about hosting a home-and-away fixture, if games shift to regional centres in coming weeks. 👀

The league said it was considering all options as it re-jigs its draw, and expects to announce round 17 details early this week.

100 YEARS

Colac RSL's sub-branch is celebrating its 100-year anniversary today, after signing its original charter on July 1, 1921.

The local club's president Ian Morgan and managers Vicki Brown and Tania Hislop and their team will today display a century of history through old photos, documents and minute books for community viewing.

PUSHUP KING 👑

Larpent dairy farmer Lachie Sutherland and a group of mates have raised more than $6000 after smashing out a collective 19,820 pushups for Horsham Headspace to honour a late friend.

Mr Sutherland admitted the task wasn't all smooth sailing, but was well worth it for the cause: "We're all in our late forties, old and fat, and pushups have been a struggle", he said.

Apollo Bay and Coragulac have backed a winner, with the Melbourne Cup to visit the towns next month as part of a nation-wide tour.

St Brendan's Catholic Primary School student Pearl Armistead donned mock silks this week to celebrate the coup, which could deliver $50,000 for a local community initiative.
