GRUELLING RIDE: Barongarook cyclist Stephen Lane rode more than 38 hours and slept for 20 minutes to win a 550-kilometre mountain bike race across Victoria.

Twenty minutes’ sleep, 550 kilometres, 1200 metres of climbing and 38 hours and 14 minutes in the saddle. That’s what Barongarook’s Stephen Lane conquered to win the Victoria Great Divide bike packing race – and in course-record time.
