Club members have been working away behind the scenes for the club’s special night tonight to mark the historic occasion.

Taylor expects over 130 people from far and wide to converge on the Colac Bowling Club as the Redbacks raise the bat.

Colac’s Longest Lunch has brought the community together to raise about $18,000 for local healthcare.

Colac Area Health Foundation’s Ami Hillege said the event was a chance to raise important awareness and funds for a local wellbeing centre.

Elliminyt Recreation Reserve has received a $3.3-million federal election pledge.

Wannon MP Dan Tehan said a re-elected Liberal government would commit to investing in the redevelopment of the reserve's pavilion, which has had long-running structural issues.

It's the first funding commitment for Colac Otway Shire, with community groups welcoming the pledge and the shire's mayor calling for more federal attention for local projects.
