Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a two-car collision at Weering where two people have died.
Emergency services were called to reports two cars had collided near the intersection of Colac-Ballarat and Barpinba roads about 5.15pm tonight.
The sole occupants of both vehicles, a 57-year-old Redan man and a 52-year-old woman from the Colac district area died at the scene. Victoria Police previously reported the female victim was a 70-year-old from Beeac but this was incorrect and has been updated.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing.

Where To BuyThe Colac-Ballarat Road was closed in both directions between Barpinba Road and Aerodrome Road while emergency services were on scene with a detour in place for motorists. The road has now reopened.
