COLAC and district families are receiving a Federal Government financial boost this month before the start of the new school year.
Government cash will help families
Corangamite MP Darren Cheeseman says the schoolkids bonus will help 1500 Colac and district families pay for uniforms, books and stationery before the new school term.

Can’t believe people would still have something to complain about when given financial assistance from the Federal Government. The cut in the EMA came from the State Liberal Government.
It cost about $60-100 to buy a decent pair of ‘school’ shoes, doesn’t leave a lot over. :-/
If only CSC had not decided this was the year to introduce new text books for every subject and year level whereas previously we’ve always been able to buy most second-hand.
The first payment will barely cover the cost of the text books and uniform. Forget about using any of it for anything else.
Can we have the rest of the EMA back now?
