The norm is 50% but many owners pay 40% and others pay 50% but driver has to pay petrol or similair. However the driver in this case should have signed a bailor/bailee agreement which sets out the terms and condition of him leasing the vehicle. he should also check whether his WORKCOVER is being paid and the owner will have to prove he has submitted all takings. There is more than one way to skin a cat. He should also email the Minister setting out all concerns but he may also realise that the owner might become heavy handed and refuse him work so he ought to ensure he has all relevant conversations noted
