A homegrown talent will take charge of Colac district cricket reigning premier Stoneyford for the 2024-25 season.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Boyd, who made an impressive return to the sport last summer, will lead the Rattlesnakes for the first time.

It signals a big change in leadership for the CDCA powerhouse, with premiership captain-coach Matthew Love departing to join South West association club Heytesbury Princetown Storm.

A sign recognising Colac’s service clubs has taken pride of place on the Princes Highway, ahead of National Volunteer’s Week.

The double-sided sign, two years in the making, lists local service clubs including Rotary, Legacy Colac, Lions Club, Meriba Service Club of Colac, RSL Australia, CFA, SES, Victoria Country Women’s Association, Australian Red Cross, VIEW Club, Freemasons Victoria and Probus.

The sign is located on the Princes Highway in front of Colac’s Driver Reviver.
