Mike, what the community really needs is the High School back. At least when our kids were struggling, they got help. Now it isn’t even noticed.
For many years the Shire, schools, both in their former and current configurations, ACE providers and regional University providers had been developing the broader vision for community, secondary education and tertiary education at both TAFE and University levels to be readily accessible in Colac. It is great that the conversations continue and projects are developing. Part of the vision was to bring as much of the provision into a central location such as the Beechy Centre based at the new Colac Secondary College site and Central reserve. That was part of the vision to leave the High School site and relocate – which still needs a good new and visionary use for the community.
Sounds like a great plan for our community. Would there be any hope of the education department setting up a shared campus at the old CHS site? Its a shame to see it sitting there going to ruins.
