Cr Mick McCrickard if you believe in ensuring the community is safe from things that could potentially be “detrimental” can you please start by closing down our pubs and clubs?
Colac people should move ahead with the times. There is already a shop in the main Street that displays Lingerie and bras in the front window. An adult store, if run properly is nothing different than Civic Hardware or Mitre 10, it just specialises in a different line of goods.
Gambling outlets and the many Liquor outlets cause more problems in Colac yet I didn’t see any objections about them. You have to be over 18 to enter the store and surely people are able to make up their own minds as to whether they patronise the store or not. I would not like to see the store placed in the industrial areas because that could cause crime problems. An adult store is not going to cause a crime wave in Colac. I fully support the proposed owners of this new business.
