Thank you Terry for the facts as outlined in your article.
Colac’s greatest asset is it’s lake, be that in it’s natural state or otherwise.
Rate payers money in the first instance should be invested on how to restore the lake to it’s former glory with rowing, yachting, fishing, etc.
In the interim (under State Government funding) the new highway from Winchelsea to Colac should come as close to Colac as possible. The eventual Bypass, be that to the north or south can then be resolved.
First fix the lake issue so it again becomes a focal point for locals and tourists.
So can the council stop wasting money on it now?
This is exactly what I have been saying all along and even Terry is now saying it – “Even if you put in place a reservation, you immediately trigger loss of sale and hardship claims from people whose properties are affected,” all those propertys with the line going through now have their property devalued thank you very much Colac Otway shire for this complete waste of rate payers money!
