   Whilst many would welcome the new Coles store it could have unintended consequences

   The City of Mildura has had many large retailers locate to cheaper land on the outskirts of the City

   There is now no reason for many residents to go into old main shopping precinct at the North end of the City

   While some businesses are trading Ok many are finding that at some times of the day the Mall is almost empty

      That sounds a bit like Geelong too. Although half the trouble there is because of the parking and traffic flow.
      But the Coles store here will still be in town, it will make it easier for people to shop in a way- 3 supermarkets\shopping areas in a row.
