As per usual Colac Otway’s planning manager Doug Mcneil’s bureaucratic statement regarding “stremlined planning” is code for a do nothing approach with regards to landowners/ratepayers rights.
Doug McNeil and his team managed to rezone allotments throughout the Shire to Rural Living without checking with Wannon Water who advises that the allotments in the water catchment will not be allowed to built on.
The fire restrictions are yet another example of council’s do nothing approach. It’s time final decisions on planning matters was decided by councilors rather than bureacrats lacking any common sense.
