A WOMAN who took police on a pursuit from Camperdown to Geelong has appeared in Geelong Magistrates’ Court.
The 46-year-old former New South Wales woman faced more than 20 charges in court relating to dangerous driving and intentionally causing serious injury.
The court heard the woman allegedly deliberately struck a pedestrian in Colac in her black four-wheel-drive during the pursuit.
She also allegedly rammed vehicles including a police car and used a machete to intimidate bystanders.
Police had Airwing assistance and used Stop Sticks to end the pursuit at the Bellarine Highway in Geelong.
Medical staff assessed the woman’s mental health at Geelong Hospital’s Swanston Centre before her court appearance last week.
The magistrate refused bail and the woman remained in police custody pending a further court date.
