To all those who have shown such great support I’d like to invite you to come and meet Rodney Croome, National Director of Australian Marriage Equality, when he comes to Colac on Saturday 12th July. Stay tuned for a time and a place. Thank you all so much.
It is so fantastic to see the support that Sharyn has received on the back of her article. Get on board one and all
Growing up in Colac I could never imagined that I would see these sentiments being directed at the community by one of its leaders. What a refreshing tick for the evolving attitudes in Victoria’s Western District. Sharyn is very much of the modern Australia I want to be part of.
Genuine equality is exactly that, where all share the same rights. At the moment gay men and women do not have the right under Australian law to marry the person they love. Marriage equality does not affect heterosexual marriage. What it does is give all Australians the same rights of marriage. Legalising marriage equality enhances lives and adds to the stability of our society. Thank you Mrs Faulkner and your sons for so clearly showing the inequality which currently exists in our laws. Thank you for standing for marriage equality in Australia!
I am gay man in his mid fifties and I am grateful society has progressed in relation to excepting gay people, but we still have a long way to go.
Love is love , we just want to be able to marry.
Couldn’t agree more!
What a great parent speaking up for both her children to have the same legal rights.
If our children turn out to be gay, we want them to be able to marry the person they love – regardless of sexuality.
