You make some very valid points, Bruce.
This a copy of email email sent to mr Verrall
To Australian Lamb Company Managing Director John Verrall
I note that you suspended lamb exports to Russia to send a “strong message” to the country’s president Vladimir Putin over the MH17 plane disaster.
You also say We focus on our relationships with growers… with our customers… with our employees and community… and with our end consumer.
I wonder why you have become political in this matter as yet it has not been proven that Russia had anything to do with the loss of this plane.
I also note Mr Verrall you state on your web site that 18 per cent of ALC Group’s products would go to domestic customers, including Major supermarkets, while it exported 82 per cent overseas, America being its biggest customer.
Is this the reason for your decision?
I thought in our country the law states that a person is not guilty until proven, it appears that you make your decisions on what the western media may say whether it is true or false, is that so?
I hope we do not hear in the future that you are sacking staff because of your commitment to US foreign policy.
Does your position apply also to countries like Indonesia when they murder thousands of East Timorese’s? or is this just too political
• Export listing to China, the Middle East, South East Asia,
Hope to hear your reply
