Child porn charges for district man

A CAMPERDOWN man will face child pornography charges at a Warrnambool court after police executed a search warrant at his property.

Officers from Warrnambool’s Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team arrested the 33-year-old man after they received a public tip-off.

Police raided the man’s Camperdown home on Tuesday, and the search uncovered photos and video evidence of child pornography.

Sergeant Chris Asenjo said police believed the alleged child exploitation images had been produced in the Camperdown area.

He said the images depicted serious abuse of a child.

Police charged the man with one count of producing child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography.

The man was bailed to appear in Warrnambool Magistrate’s Court on December 15.
