Colac travellers could have access to an additional return train service six days a week if a Coalition Government returns to power at the November 29 election.
Extra train for Colac if Coalition returned

Tim, while we might agree to disagree, perhaps you should study the economic data for Regional Victoria. In the past 4 years Regional Victoria has been in economic decline eg, higher rates of unemployment, increased business closures and lower consumer confidence. To add to Regional Victoria’s woes the Liberal State Government has cut spending in a number of essential services, Health and a Education for example.
In was a Liberal Government under Kennett that closed many Regional rail networks. These were re-opened by a Labor Government led by Steve Bracks. Your implied suggestion that Regional Victoria fares better under the Liberals doesn’t stack up when the evidence is carefully analysed.
What would be amusing is Napthine and co doing the unthinkable and winning and the Not So Honourable having to honour the plethora of promises he has been making over the past few weeks! Imagine the line of community groups presenting oversized novelty cheques at the bank, the sporting clubs talking up their AFL grade facilities, the triple lane highways, bypasses, roundabouts, footbridges, playgrounds, monorails, extra train services and lollies for everyone!
Hahaha Phil.. Telling me that only the liberal party disseminates propaganda, that your party sticks to its election promises is laughable.
I will repeat my main point.. Your party has wasted billions of dollars that could have been spent on the very people who Labor allegedly sticks up for.
If you reckon Labor’s climate change policy will save the world I think you might be disappointed.
Looks like we’ll just have to agree to disagree Phil.
I’ll look forward to Dan Andrews supporting the good people of rural Victoria when he’s premier.
I could go into bat about the so-called disasters you list Tim, but they are irrelevant to the argument. Labor, both State and Federal, voted out of office as the Liberals, both State and Federal, made great promises about what they would do when elected. Both have disregarded many of their important promises, State Libs promised Teachers they would be highest paid in Australia, complete lie, now our teachers apart from Tasmania are the lowest paid, they promised a railway to Doncaster, a complete lie, never intended to happen, promised no cuts to State education and Health, another lie, their first budget saw some of the biggest cuts in these areas since Kennett, I could go on. If I started on the promises Abbott made Federally prior to the last Federal election and then completed disregarded when elected I’d be writing till Christmas.
Tim, if you happen to listen to most learned economists you would find there wasn’t and isn’t a budget crisis either State or Federal. The Coalition, with help from certain sections of the media created an appearance of a budget crisis to justify defaulting on election promises.
My principle argument is simple, governments that break most of there election promises don’t deserve to be re-elected.
By the way, the Desal Plant has drought proofed Melbourne.
Most schools in Australia have been improved as a result of increased expenditure during the Global Financial Crisis.
North/South pipeline is only a lemon because the State Coalition refused to use it.
At The recent G20 meeting in Brisbane Leaders were concerned,to say the least, that the Abbott government had turned it’s back on climate change. Most have a form of carbon pricing, ie a carbon tax!
Tim you are OK about the obscene cruelty to the cattle the precipitated the live export ban?
The Federal Labor government weathered the Global Financial Crisis better than any other world government. Australia was the about the only Western country that did not experience massive unemployment.
Interestingly, under the State Coalition Government unemployment in Victoria is at 12 year high and it gives me no joy to highlight the terrible youth unemployment in Colac.
Tim, you can vote for whoever you like but don’t get caught up in propaganda designed to confuse the issues.
LABOR STATE AND FEDERAL DISASTERS PHIL ALEXANDER
Desal plant
North South Pipeline lemon
MYKI debacle
Tripling of TAFE course costs under Labor
Closing of Tech schools under Labor
School halls complete waste of cash (Fed)
Pink batts debacle (Fed)
Carbon tax that will never alter the climate (Fed)
Cash for clunkers idea
Live cattle export disaster
I could go on
These all happened under Labor and cost the country billions… if Labor didn’t waste so much money, there would be cash for Ambo’s, police, health, etc.
Think Mulder is telling his electorate “Not in my time”.
He will be 65 within 3 years.
His office denies he is retiring.
This State Government has broken more election promises than plates at a Greek wedding. Mulder said extra service will happen in 3 years. In the unlikely event that it is delivered that is snails pace.
Jo, I’m not ALP President but I need to point out that if you continue to re-elect governments that blatantly break election promises, as this State Liberal Government has done, their promises eventually become meaningless.
By the looks of the current polls it may not happen, hopefully our resident ALP resident Mr Phil Alexander is happy about this, I wonder if ‘Dan Andrews’ will also deliver
