The Colac district cricketing fraternity rallied together on Saturday to pay tribute to Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes, whose death last Thursday from an on-field incident rocked the crickteting world. Irrewarra and Colac players and officials, pictured, stopped for a minute’s silence before their Division One match, while players wore black armbands and people placed cricket bats and caps outside properties’ front doors in honour of the talented batsman, who would have celebrated his 26th birthday yesterday.
