Id love to see the Police at the west end of town more often, they’re hardly ever up there and there a heck of traffic speeding through that part of town. There’s also a large amount of drivers, of all vehicle types, using mobile phones etc… as they must feel its safe to do so since they can see so far ahead! Well i can see them as they pass, and wouldn’t mind $1 for every driver doing wrong that passes. To see a truck driver with a iPad resting on the steering wheel or a phone in 1 hand and the CB in the other… come on, ya can’t be that good! LoL There’s also plenty of tailgating goes on. Maybe some can’t read the 60k sign near Deans Creek rd.
Another thing I see a lot of is Mother on the phone with kids in the back, kill yaself not ya kids. Sales rep’s are just as bad too!
I have contacted Colac Shire, Terry Moulder and Vicroads in attempt to have the speed limit lowered to 50kmh from old High School bus exit to McDonald st, it is 50 now, but they responded with the news that there hasn’t been enough accidents to warrant such a change! Pfft… There are 8 intersections and a set of traffic light which still get used and a pedestrian crossing, its a built up area and gets very busy especially in school times.
I’ve also been in contact with the council to get signs or markings out the front of our house to keep traffic from blocking the driveways along here, no success with that as yet… Guess I’ll just have to keep being sworn at by people blocking the way.
I don’t expect to make friends by posting this, but its just what I see happening.
