As is usually the case these motor vehicle accidents required an Ambulance response and given that Colac and 4,000 square KM around it has only one Ambulance available to respond these people were lucky to receive Paramedic assistance.
What we don’t know at this stage is the response time, was it 5 minutes as it would have been if the Colac Ambulance was actually available or did they wait for a Camperdown Ambulance to respond which may have taken 30 minutes.
Was the Colac Ambulance unavailable due to it conducting a non urgent patient transfer to Geelong for Colac Hospital which occurs on a regular basis and should not take place as the Hospital should use a non emergency Ambulance as per Ambulance Victoria protocol?
CosWEcount! Inc. are in discussion with the Minister for Health and Ambulance services Jill Hennessy with regard to obtaining two Ambulances for Colac, the CFA becoming Back Up First Responders and the prevention of the Colac Hospital Ambulance abuse which has contributed to people’s death . Please continue to sign our petition in Colac Businesses as we will call them in soon.
