ELLIMINYT’S Nathan Gray can “enjoy a normal 21-year-old’s activities” after shedding more than a third of his body weight.
Mr Gray started following a health and fitness program in July that his friend and coach Dylan Flanigan designed, and lost 60 kilograms in nine months, after a 159-kilogram starting weight.
“I wanted to lose some weight, Dylan is my best mate and introduced me to the program – I was sort of the guinea pig, I was his first client,” Mr Gray said.
“I had low confidence, I hated the feeling when I walked into a room, I felt like everyone was judging me on my appearance,” he said.
Mr Gray said he had “always been overweight ever since 7 or 8”. “That was when I started noticing it,” he said.
Mr Gray said he had returned to playing cricket this year after stopping about 18 months ago because he “felt too uncomfortable”.
“I’m enjoying going clothes shopping and a normal 21-year-old’s activities,” he said of his weight loss.
“It has changed my life dramatically, I have heaps more confidence feel better and look better.”
Mr Gray said he would continue to stick to his new health program, including a strict nutrition plan and an hour’s exercise each day.
“It is a lifestyle program, not a six-month phase, I’ll keep sticking to it for the rest of my life, I don’t want to go back to the way I was.”
