‘Wall of tears’ on shrine

Lyn-Russell-Heather-GreenColac Otway Shire Council workers install an Anzac Day “wall of tears” at Memorial Square featuring 403 woollen poppies to represent the number of Colac district soldiers who died in the First World War.

Colac Quilters’ Heather Green and councillor Lyn Russell helped organise Colac district crafters to knit, sew and crochet red poppies for the centenary of the Gallipoli battle.

The “wall of tears” will hang at the Colac Cenotaph for the month of April.
